Ms. Jacobson is also responsible for providing regulatory, technical and pollution prevention assistance to printers for the USEPA funded Printer's National Environmental Assistance Center. Her responsibilities include developing and presenting technical training to state technical assistance providers, helping to write compliance assistance manuals on the printing industry for printers and regulatory official's use.
Prior to joining WMRC in 1995 Ms. Jacobson provided environmental compliance and waste minimization oversight at a fast food packaging manufacturer which engaged in wide web gravure and flexographic printing as well as thermoforming. While there she was responsible for environmental compliance, reporting as well as addressing safety, insurance & real estate issues. In the course of her work she worked with press operators and other plant staff to develop and implement a comprehensive cost savings and waste prevention program.
Ms. Jacobson is a member of the Air & Waste Management Association (AWMA), an international association of environmental professionals. She served on the board of directors of the Lake Michigan State Section of the AWMA from 1998 to 2003, and began serving a new term in 2007. She previously held the officer positions of Secretary, Programs Chair/Vice Chair, and in 2001 to 2002 held the office of Chairman of the Section.
