Description: PPRC and WRPPN would like to invite you to the "Spray Paint Efficiency" webinar. This webinar will provide P2 Technical Assistance Providers with an opportunity to learn how to identify opportunities to improve the overall efficiency of manual spray coating operations by enhancing the techniques of painters. The information presented in this webinar draws on the fundamental techniques that are offered in the Spray Technique Analysis and Research (STAR) training developed by the Iowa Waste Reduction Center.

The webinar will discuss the following topics for achieving maximum efficiency:

  • proper spray gun maintenance, use and adjustments
  • proper spray gun position
  • spray overlap and edge painting techniques

The next time you visit a collision repair shop or facility that spray paints their products, you will be able to identify techniques that promote coating inconsistency and increase waste and offer qualified advice for improvement. Ken Grimm is a certified STAR trainer and has over 20 years combined industrial and automotive painting experience.

Chemical Facilities Anti-Terrorism Standards Workshop

NACWA's 2008 Summer Conference & 38TH Annual Meeting

With 35 years of Clean Water Act (CWA) implementation behind us, municipalities are now facing the next generation of clean water challenges. Issues examined at the 2008 Summer Conference will focus on the challenges on the horizon for the clean water community. Discussion topics will include:

  • Nutrients -- Treatment technology advancements; trading and other innovative management approaches; nonpoint source control efforts
  • Bacteria/Pathogens -- Meeting new, more stringent criteria; use attainability analyses; wet weather standards

Online Training Available for Hazardous Materials

Description:

The Minnesota Department of Transportation, Office of Freight and Commercial Vehicle Operations has developed an online eLearning system for Hazardous Materials (HM) training. It will teach the fundamental requirements for preparing HM for transportation as well as the basic requirements for transporting HM on public highways.

This type of training allows you to learn from the comfort of your home or place of work, you can learn at your own pace, it is available 24 hours a day from your computer, and it saves on time, travel, and lodging.

There are 9 modules that comprise the HM E-Learning training, and they do not need to be taken in any specific order. The 9 modules are: Introduction; HAZMAT Table; Shipping Papers; Marking and Labeling; >Placarding; Packaging; Security; Training; and Transportation by Highway.
