The Mud to Parks projects is providing topsoil reclaimed from Lake Peoria to a future Chicago Park at the old U.S. Steel South Works site.

Banner Marsh, an Illinois Department of Natural Resources state fish and wildlife area south of Pekin, Illinois, is the site of a pilot project that uses dredged soil to help restore the land.
