Environmental Management System (ISO14001) Implementation Assistance Program

MLP Documents and Forms

WMRC offers a full service ISO14001/EMS implementation program structured to meet customer needs. EMS services range from decision enhancing information, presentations to staff, and complete on-site assistance that is designed to lead organizations to ISO 14001 certification or an ISO 14001-aligned environmental management system (EMS). WMRC will also provide the necessary documentation examples to facilitate program initiation and implementation. Additionally, WMRC staff help companies achieve the targets and objectives they establish during the development of their EMS.

How Can WMRC Help You?

EMS Implementation Assistance Program:

"Gap Analysis" - A Gap Analysis benchmarks the facility’s current environmental program to the ISO 14001 EMS Standard. The gap analysis will consist of an opening meeting, a document review, an operational review, and a closing meeting. A report will serve as a guide to the elements of the ISO Standard that require additional activities by the current environmental program.

"EMS Implementation Team Assistance" - A two-day training course designed to provide an EMS implementation team with the basic knowledge required to develop an EMS. This course highlights all of the elements of the ISO 14001 Standard and features hands-on activities designed to involve the Team in the development of the EMS.

"Aspects and Impacts Analysis Assistance/Process Mapping" - The environmental aspects and impacts which stem from the facility’s activities, products or services, are the basis for establishing the environmental management system. Using proven Process Mapping and Root Cause Analysis techniques WMRC will assist the facility, to map out the intricacies of its processes. This training will aid the facility in the development and determination of significant environmental aspects and help establish EMS targets.

"Internal Auditor Development" - ISO Element 4.5.5 requires that the ISO 14001 EMS be periodically audited. Lean how to conduct an audit and what an auditor needs to know, how to develop an internal audit procedure, an audit checklist, an audit schedule, and perform a Mock Internal Audit. 2 Days.

"Internal EMS Audit" - WMRC will assist in the performance of an internal audit of your EMS. This audit differs from a Gap Analysis in its determination of the conformity of the existing EMS to the requirements of the ISO14001 Standard and whether the EMS has been properly implemented and maintained. WMRC personnel may perform the internal audit as part of the facility’s internal audit team’s audit or as a training enhancement tool.

Environmental Management System (ISO 14001) ImplementationAssistance

This multi-phased program will provide environmental and quality systems specialists with the essential information needed to develop and implement an ISO 14001 Environmental Management System or an ISO 14001-aligned EMS. The student will be responsible to transfer learned knowledge and procedures to the facility’s EMS. Sessions will meet once a month. The Program consists of five sessions.

Session agendas:

Session 1 (4 Hrs) - Building the Framework for Success: Introduction to the ISO 14001 Standard
