IL DoD Environmental Partnershp Used Tire Collection

On March 24-25, 2000, Scott Air Force Base, in cooperation with the Illinois Environmental Protection Agency, the East Side Health District and the St. Clair County Health Department sponsored a free, two-day collection of used tires. The two-day collection yielded 550 tons of tires and 40 tons of metal from tire rims. The collection boasted 639 Participants.
